What is PM Tool?
PM Tool is project and portfolio management for an organization that has to answer for its work. One board, one portfolio and one audit trail are shared across four organizations, dependencies are enforced at the transition rather than drawn as labels, and every change is written to a history that is only ever added to.
Can a blocked item be moved anyway?
No. While something an item waits on is still open, the item cannot leave its column — the rule is enforced at the transition, not surfaced as a warning somebody can click past. It is the one claim on this page you can test yourself: the card above refuses.
What does the audit trail record?
Every transition, field change and comment, each entry carrying a name and a timestamp, in a history that is only ever appended to. How far back it reads depends on the plan: 30 days on Free, six months on Team, and without limit on Pro, which can also export it.
How do people get access to an organization?
Three ways, and each one leaves a record: an administrator provisions the account, a mapped email domain earns it, or an invitation carries it. Nobody joins an organization by accident, and no organization or board exists until an address is confirmed.
Can an AI assistant use PM Tool?
Yes, over MCP on an HTTP endpoint with OAuth and scoped tokens. The assistant reads and writes under its own identity, so it appears in the audit trail as itself rather than as whoever connected it. Read-only access is on Team; reading and writing is on Pro.
What does PM Tool cost?
Free for up to 10 members and 3 projects. Team is $4 per user per month and Pro is $8, both 20% less when billed annually. Enterprise and self-hosted is priced on conversation.
Can we run it on our own infrastructure?
Yes, on the Enterprise and self-hosted plan: your own infrastructure, your own region, and an agreed service level. Every other plan runs on ours.
How is it different from Jira or Trello?
Dependencies that genuinely block a transition, and an audit trail nobody can edit afterwards — including the administrators. The comparison above puts every plan beside Jira Premium and Trello Premium line by line, at a third of the per-user price.
